This striking table lamp combines a vibrant red ceramic base with a characteristic bubble glass globe. The design reflects the distinctive aesthetic of the Space Age era, where organic forms and unconventional materials come together to create a functional work of art.
The lamp is crafted from glazed red ceramic, ensuring a smooth and glossy finish on the cylindrical base with a handle (mug-shaped). The globe shade is made of textured bubble glass in a warm, amber hue, providing atmospheric and diffuse light distribution. The combination of these materials and colors creates a strong visual contrast typical of 1970s design.
The fixture is in good condition, retaining the original materials (some erosion, but no rust). A small chip was discreetly glued back on the edge above the cord passage (i.e., on the back). See the photos. The lamp is equipped with a white cord (3.70 m!) with a plug and a small socket. This piece looks excellent on a sideboard, nightstand, or side table. It adds a playful and colorful element to both vintage-inspired and modern, eclectic living spaces.
