Workshop lamp designed by Louis Ferdinand Solère. An iconic piece of 1950s technical lighting, it combines perfect functionality with a timeless industrial aesthetic.
This model features a telescopic arm and a large circular shade, complete with its famous "Solersol" diffuser in blue resin. Its perfectly preserved green hammered paint finish is a visual signature of post-war workshops and design offices.
Beyond its appearance, this lamp shines with its technical prowess. The shade is highly adjustable: it can be oriented in all directions thanks to a ball joint system, allowing for precise lighting. To ensure perfect balance, even when the arm is fully extended, its base is weighted with an original cast iron piece.
The piece's authenticity is attested by the "SOLR" monogram embossed on the metal of the shade. It has been carefully restored to current standards: the electrical cord and plug have been replaced for safer use, but the original toggle switch (on the shade) and brass socket have been retained.
This lamp has aged beautifully, retaining a lovely patina.
There is a slight dent on the base and on the shade's dome.
The blue resin diffuser has a small chip around its edge (as shown in the photo), which is common on these delicate pieces, but it remains perfectly functional.
The lamp shows signs of wear (paint chips, micro-scratches) consistent with its age and use.
