The vine motif has graced tableware for centuries. A symbol of abundance, conviviality, and sharing, it adorns both rustic pitchers and dinnerware sets for family meals. In the mid-20th century, numerous French and Belgian ceramic workshops drew inspiration from this tradition, creating robust pieces with generous relief and warm glazes. This small enameled stoneware pitcher is a beautiful illustration of this. Its curved body is entirely adorned with a molded design of grape clusters, vine leaves, and foliate scrolls, highlighted by an amber-toned brown glaze that reveals every detail of the relief. Its flared neck and generous handle give it an elegant silhouette while remaining true to traditional utilitarian forms. Originally intended for serving wine, cider, or water, this pitcher now naturally finds its place in a kitchen with character, a rustic decor, or a collection of antique ceramics.
