Since the 17th century, the city of Delft has been inseparable from its famous white earthenware decorated with cobalt blue, inspired by the Chinese porcelains that arrived in Europe via the trading posts of the East India Company. This tradition has become one of the symbols of Dutch craftsmanship and continues to inspire many manufacturers. Founded in the Netherlands in the 20th century, Vero Ceramics continues this tradition by creating hand-painted decorative pieces that reinterpret the great classics of Delft decoration. Its creations largely contributed to making this art known among travelers and lovers of Dutch decor during the 1960s to 1980s. This charming small lidded pot features a traditional decoration of windmills, houses, and Dutch landscapes, executed in Delft Blue on glossy white earthenware. The small side handles and stylized floral motifs reinforce its typically Dutch character. Approximately 11 cm high, approximately 8 cm in diameter. The piece bears the stamp "Vero Ceramics, Hand Painted Delfts Blue" on its base, attesting to its hand-painted Dutch manufacture. In very good condition, with no chips or cracks. On a windowsill or in a display cabinet, it brings that touch of Nordic blue that warms an interior.
