A small, curved Dutch Art Deco desk from the 1930s. An elegant design executed in Maple and off-white lacquered wood. The desk was part of the interior of the jewellery shop S.Spyer located at the Koningsplein in Amsterdam. In 1929-1930 the shop was redesigned by Amsterdam architect Harry Elte, giving the shop a more modern Art Deco shopfront and interior. The furniture was executed by the Gebroeders Reens company. (see monogrammed key)
In good vintage condition. Some minor discolouring to the top (note: the brown mark was always there. It is in the grain of the wood and not a stain). The locks are all working using the single key.
