Herta-Maria Witzemann (1918 – 1999) was an interior and furniture designer, university professor, and president of the Association of German Interior Designers. She studied carpentry, architecture, and applied arts.
She designed furniture for prestigious firms such as Knoll-International or Thonet.
The design of this chair reflects her motto “Tomorrow we will live with more beauty, more brightness, more lightness, more modernity” and represents the optimism and economic boom of post-war Germany.
