This is an original silkscreen by the Dutch artist Corneille (1922-2010), a prominent member of the CoBrA movement. The work, titled “Man with bird” or “Earthenware bowl”, is a characteristic example of his post-CoBrA period and shows his immediately recognizable visual language. The silkscreen was produced in 2000 and is hand-signed in pencil by the artist. It is a Hors Commerce (HC) copy, numbered XIX/XXX, which makes it a special edition outside the regular print run. The work is characterized by a vibrant palette of primary and secondary colors, including red, blue, yellow and pink, printed on paper. The dimensions of the professional framing are 73 cm high and 53 cm wide. The overall condition of the artwork is very good, with bright and unfaded colors. The lithography comes from art dealer J. Hoogers in Hoorn, which strengthens its provenance. The work is framed in a light wooden frame with a white passe-partout, ready to be hung. With its expressive and poetic style, this work is a decorative asset for various interiors, from modern to eclectic.
