Sijbranda - Sealines: A Deeper Shade of Blue I draw inspiration from contact with the elements of earth, water and wind and the horizon. Born in Hoek van Holland, my fascination with the sea is as natural as it is natural. The horizon: an imaginary line between water and air, between earth and sky, separation of elements, end of a perspective. There I stand, face to face with that unfathomable perspective. I take photographs of that view and transform them into an abstract play of lines. Thus is created the Sealines collection, abstracted seascapes distinguished by a subtle color palette, a large perspective, and a mystical atmosphere. I use current techniques and transform the images into an abstraction, adding a personal impression. Work of mine has been exhibited in various locations: 2024: Customs House, Culture Council Maassluis. 2022: Arts center Kade 40, Vlaardingen 2020: Fort 1881, Hoek van Holland 2019: Rhoon Castle, Rotterdam 2018: The Overkant, Ouddorp 2017: Theater Kapelletje, Rotterdam Works from the Sealines Collection are included in the catalog of Kunstencentrum Vlaardingen and in private collections.
