Product description
Beautiful set of four vintage dining chairs, produced in the 1960s. Designer and manufacturer are unfortunately unknown, but the chairs are very likely of Dutch origin. In terms of design, they strongly resemble Habeo furniture from the same period. This set comes from the east of the Netherlands and has been fully restored. The woodwork has been carefully cleaned and nourished, with the original patina preserved as much as possible. The seats have new foam and have been re-upholstered in a beautiful beige bouclé, making the chairs wonderfully comfortable again. Some minor signs of use are still visible; these contribute to the authentic character of the set. The most distinctive features are the woven cane backrests, which are subtly placed detached from the wooden frame with metal connections. This creates space between the back and the frame, and the construction remains beautifully visible. The back legs extend high along the backrest, while the slender rails and slightly flared legs give the chairs a remarkably airy appearance. This open construction is particularly well highlighted from the side and from behind. The light, mottled fabric forms a calm contrast with the warm wood and complements the natural color of the cane beautifully. A very nice set for daily use, with precisely that playful mid-century design that also fits well in a modern interior.
