Product description
This is a set of four 'Turku' Dining chairs, a vintage design by Ikea from the late 20th century. The chairs are characterized by a striking postmodern silhouette that uniquely combines materials and forms. The design is a good example of Ikea's bolder and more design-oriented pieces from that period, which have now become sought-after collector's items. The construction of each chair consists of a chrome-plated metal frame, which provides a sturdy yet lightweight appearance. The seat and the high, ergonomically shaped backrest are made of wood with a warm, light finish that shows the natural wood grain. Striking details include the cylindrical wooden top rail and the small, round cutout in the backrest, which give the design a playful and graphic element. The set is in good vintage condition, with a character that matches its age and use. The combination of cool, reflective chrome and warm, natural wood creates an interesting visual contrast. The chairs are sturdy and retain their original structural and aesthetic integrity. These 'Turku' Dining chairs are an excellent addition to an eclectic, minimalist, or postmodern interior. They fit well around a glass or metal dining table, where their unique design comes fully into its own. The set offers a comfortable and stylish seating solution with a clear historical design character. The chairs have been stripped of their original lacquer layer as it was in poor condition. The wood is now finished with oil.
