Set of 2 – Umbra “blind” bookshelf – L-Shape – Invisible shelf
This is a beautiful new addition to the series of floating bookshelves. Thanks to the curved design, you can place books on either side that appear to be falling off! However, there is a plate at both ends, making this an illusion.

No, it is not an anti-gravity bookshelf. Umbra’s L Conceal, shown as a pair in photo 2, is the latest variation on a minimalist design that allows books to be stacked on an invisible bracket, making them appear to float on the wall. In 2005, Miron Lior, a student at the Pratt Institute, won a competition sponsored by Umbra with the simple powder-coated steel L-shaped bracket featuring a clip that holds the bottom flap of a hardcover book in place. The bottom book creates a cantilevered platform on which other books can be stacked.
The latest addition to the line, L Conceal, uses the same system, placed at both ends of a curved wooden shelf.
“The beauty of this L-shaped shelf is that it plays with the traditional and typical straight shelf and creates the unexpected.”
The gentle curve in the shelf allows the user to create compositions on the wall.
