Price reduced. Bidding from 1,000 euros. A set of two original Concorde chairs, designed by the French designer Pierre Paulin for the Dutch manufacturer Artifort. This model is an icon of Mid-Century Modern design, known for its sleek and futuristic silhouette.
The Concorde chair was originally designed in 1966 for the waiting area of the French Concorde aircraft at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The chairs have a streamlined shape with a high backrest, fully upholstered in a royal blue wool fabric. The construction rests on a minimalist, white lacquered metal sled base that enhances the floating effect of the design.
This set is in good, vintage condition and retains its original upholstery. The fabric shows character and traces consistent with age and use, while the structure of the chairs is solid and intact. The overall appearance testifies to the durable quality for which Artifort is known.
These chairs are a statement in any interior and function excellently as accent chairs in a living room, as comfortable seating in an office, or as a stylish addition to a reception area. They fit seamlessly into an environment with a fondness for Dutch Design, Space Age, or eclectic styles.
