Product description
This special set of asymmetrical nightstands, attributed to Jindřich Halabala and produced by UP Závody in 1957, brings a touch of Czech Art Deco and Mid-Century charm to any interior. The cabinets stand out due to their characteristic stepped construction, soft curves, striking walnut burl veneer, and sleek chrome handles. Because the doors open in mirror image (left and right), they are perfect for use as full-fledged bedside cabinets or as sculptural side tables next to a sofa. The top plates are fitted with precisely cut and finished black glass, matching the original appearance of the former opaxite glass. Historical woodworm damage has been fully and professionally treated and stabilized; the holes on the visible parts have been neatly filled with wax, although this up close is still part of the age and history of the furniture. This set is in an authentic, lived-in vintage condition. Specifics or defects are included in the photos or text.
