A set of six original postcards from the Exposition Internationale de Liège in 1930, each individually framed. This collection offers an authentic glimpse into the graphic art and the spirit of the interwar period in Belgium. The cards celebrate the centenary of Belgian independence and the themes of the exhibition: industry, science, and Walloon art.
Each card is a lithographic print on paper, characteristic of the Art Deco style with its bold lines, geometric shapes, and vibrant color palettes. The illustrations range from allegorical representations and industrial symbolism to architectural depictions of the exhibition pavilions. The set features works by artists such as Alfred Martin and H. Michel, printed by Imp. Bénard S.A. in Liège.
The postcards have been preserved in excellent condition for their age, protected behind glass. The colors are still bright and the details sharp. The frames are of various styles and finishes, ranging from gold-colored to dark brown, which gives the set a collected and eclectic character.
This collection is ideal for creating a distinctive 'gallery wall' and adds a historical and artistic element to any interior. The set fits particularly well in an environment with Art Deco, classic, or vintage design elements and makes for an interesting conversation piece.
