Product description
This set of six nesting boxes from Indochina, dating from the mid-twentieth century, is a refined example of traditional Asian craftsmanship. The boxes are crafted from woven bamboo and finished with polychrome lacquer, resulting in a striking contrast between the natural texture and the glossy, decorated edges.
The construction demonstrates masterful control of the material, with the bamboo carefully woven to create sturdy, rounded shapes. The black lacquer edges are enriched with refined, gold-colored floral and geometric motifs, giving the boxes an elegant appearance. The set consists of six boxes of different sizes that fit together seamlessly, which is both aesthetically and functionally appealing.
The set is in a condition consistent with age and use, preserving its character and original finish. The patina and light wear contribute to the authentic appearance of these historic objects.
These nesting boxes make a stylish addition to an eclectic or classic interior. They can serve as decorative objects on a sideboard or coffee table, or as an elegant storage solution for small items.
