Here's a fantastic set of four dining chairs from the Czechoslovakian maker Tatra, dating back to the mid-century era. They've got a really distinctive look, thanks to the beautifully figured wood grain on the backrests and the fresh, new bouclé upholstery. The wooden parts were also restored.
The chairs feature moulded plywood backrests that show off a dramatic, flame-like veneer, contrasted with solid wood tapered legs. Each backrest includes a handy cutout that serves as a handle. The seats have been professionally reupholstered in a soft, white bouclé-style textile, which adds a lovely bit of texture and comfort. This combination of dark wood and light fabric is a classic mid-century pairing.
This set is in great restored condition and feels solid and ready for everyday use. The recent upholstery means the seats are clean and comfortable, while the wooden frames have a warm, authentic character.
