This set of three dining chairs from the 1950s represents the distinctive styling of post-war European design. The silhouette is characterized by a slanted, dynamic leg construction and striking red upholstery, giving the chairs a distinct character within the Mid-Century Modern tradition.
These handmade chairs were crafted at the time by a local carpenter in the Antwerp area. They feature a sturdy wooden frame finished in a dark shade, creating a strong contrast with the vibrant red faux leather upholstery. The seats and backrests are finished with decorative nails along the edges, a detail that accentuates the construction. The materials and production method indicate a robust build quality typical of furniture from this period.
