Product description
Beautiful and extremely rare find: antique hat boxes or decorative storage boxes with lids. Authentically handcrafted with Urushi lacquer, made in Japan around 1920.
Complete set of three.
Original Japanese lacquer. The unique lacquer layer ensures extreme durability and a beautiful deep reddish-brown color, almost black. The color varies depending on how the light hits it. The interior is lacquered black using the same glossy technique.
The boxes fit together.

In very good vintage condition.
Minor damage to the smallest and some dull scratches on the medium-sized box, see photos. These can be touched up, making them less noticeable.
