Product description
Antique vases in ceramic, from Central Europe. They form a set of three pieces of folk pottery from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. Tall vessels of this kind were used to store liquids and provisions in rural homes. All three have a turned body of unglazed reddish clay, with incised bands and wavy lines of pale slip, and a mouth glazed in green; the largest flares its neck like a trumpet. The clay has a warm terracotta tone with areas washed by use, and the green glaze keeps its sheen and small losses. Grouped on the floor, a shelf or a mantelpiece, they work as vases for dried branches or herbs.
