This is a charming set of two armchairs in a classic English country house style, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The design, with its low, rolled armrests and comfortable silhouette, is reminiscent of the work of renowned English furniture makers such as Howard & Sons. The chairs are expertly crafted with turned wooden front legs and slightly splayed back legs. A typical detail from that period are the small brass castors under the front legs, intended to make the armchairs easy to move. The upholstery is made of a neutral, warm yellow textile fabric that is easy to combine. The set is in good vintage condition, with a character appropriate for its age.
