Superb and authentic set of 12 Art Deco style animal knife rests, by the prestigious Christofle house (Gallia Collection).
Each piece bears the official period hallmark with the initials "OC" with the horse's head / chess knight (period 1935-1983) and the number 1.
The lot consists of a beautiful variation of 6 pairs of geometric and stylized animals (ideal for a symmetrical table):
• 2 Bears
• 2 Birds / Doves
• 2 Pigs
• 2 Lions
• 2 Greyhounds
• 2 Cats
Condition: Very good state of preservation for their age. The silver plating is brilliant, no major desilvering.
Case: Sold in its original Christofle box with individual pre-formed slots for each animal (box in: very good condition / with slight traces of time]).
Average dimensions: Approximately 8 cm in length.
