Product description
Beautiful set of four vintage dining chairs, designed by Louis van Teeffelen and produced by the Wébé furniture factory in the 1960s. In the original brochure, this model is listed as 'Milaan', part of a larger series of furniture. This set comes from Amsterdam and was purchased by the original owners along with the matching dining table at the time. The chairs have been fully restored, consciously taking into account the natural patina to preserve authenticity. Both the seats and backrests have new foam and have been re-upholstered in a rich green bouclé. The deep green hue forms a beautiful contrast with the teak and gives the chairs a soft, charming appearance. The seating comfort is also excellent again, which is certainly not unimportant. The solid teak frames have been thoroughly cleaned and refinished, bringing out the warm color of the wood beautifully again. Some joints have been re-glued, making the chairs sturdy and stable again. The quality is immediately evident in the construction and weight; pure Dutch craftsmanship from a time when furniture was still built to last. Despite the dark tones of the wood and fabric, the overall look is surprisingly light. The slender legs and small brass decorative spheres in the back give the chairs an elegant, chic appearance. Typically Van Teeffelen: seemingly simple, but thoughtfully designed down to the details. The Scandinavian influences are clearly visible, although we lovingly claim this as Dutch design.
