This is a set of two antique piano candlesticks, dating from circa 1920. The candlesticks are made of solid brass and show the elegant, flowing lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, also known as Jugendstil. The set consists of two swivel arms with candle holders and the corresponding original wall plates for mounting. The design is both functional and decorative, intended to provide the pianist with focused light. The openwork, organic motif of the arms is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship from that period. The candlesticks are in excellent condition, especially considering their age of over a century. Over the years, the brass has developed a subtle, warm patina that contributes to the authentic character of the pieces. The set is complete and the swivel mechanisms are functional. Although originally designed for use next to a piano, this set also functions excellently as atmospheric wall lighting in a hall, living room, or study. They add a touch of historical elegance to both classic and eclectic interiors.
