About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A dining set designed by Bruno Rey for Kusch & Co, consisting of four chairs and a matching table. This set is an excellent example of Swiss design from the mid-20th century, known for its robust construction and functional aesthetics. The iconic design of the Rey chair, originally from 1971, is characterized by its unique, screwless wood-to-metal connection.
The set is executed in a vibrant red color, making a powerful visual statement. The chairs are made of solid beech wood with a red lacquer finish, accentuating the organic forms of the design. The table has a matching red wooden base and a durable, light gray top with beveled edges, providing a practical and easy-to-maintain surface. The construction testifies to the high quality standards of the German manufacturer Kusch & Co.
The overall condition of the set is good, with a character that matches its age and use. The woodwork and lacquer show an authentic patina that tells the story of the furniture, while the structural integrity has been fully preserved. The combination of the four chairs and the table forms a complete and coherent whole.
This Bruno Rey dining set is a versatile addition to various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern to eclectic and contemporary. Its compact dimensions make the set ideal for both a dining room and an eat-in kitchen, where it will form a focal point of color and design.
