About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
For the lover of iconic mid-century and modernist design: a beautiful, 8-piece tea or coffee set from the high-quality Rosenthal Studio-line. This is the 'Century White' series (Form 8000), designed in 1979 by the legendary Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala to celebrate Rosenthal's 100th anniversary.
This specific edition is an absolute design icon and is even included in the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Unique design features of this set:
* Sea urchin structure: The white porcelain features a subtle, tactile relief pattern of dots, inspired by nature.
* Cups on feet: The generous cups rest on three small, characteristic feet, making them appear to 'float' elegantly. They can be used both with and without the saucers.
* Multifunctional plates: The plates are designed to be completely flat without the traditional ring in the middle. This makes them perfect for use as elegant side plates for pastries, petit fours, or chocolates.
* Tea/coffee pot with handle: The pot features the characteristic, sleek metal handle.
The set consists of:
* 1x Large teapot / coffee pot with metal handle and lid. Pot height: 16 cm. Height including handle: 22 cm.
* 7 x large teacups. Diameter 9.5 cm.
* 7 x multifunctional combi-saucer pastry plate. Diameter: 14 cm.
Condition of the crockery:
The complete set is in absolutely perfect condition. No chips, no hairline cracks, no discolouration, and the metal handle of the teapot is scratch-free. The crockery is marked on the bottom with the Rosenthal Studio-line stamp.
