This statue comes from Zimbabwe and was made by one of the groups in Chitungwisa, a poor neighborhood about 25 km from Harare. The sculptors work in the open air and start by carving the statue and then refine it by filing and sanding. To finish, the statue is placed in a wood fire to heat it. Pure craftsmanship!
