Product description
The Senator sofa, designed by Ole Wanscher and manufactured by Cado in Denmark during the 1960s, is a quintessential example of Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian design. This two-seater piece is celebrated for its elegant wooden frame and comfortable proportions, reflecting Wanscher's commitment to refined craftsmanship and functional aesthetics.
Constructed with a solid wood frame, likely teak given the era and origin, the sofa features a warm, natural finish that highlights the wood's grain. The upholstery is a textured textile in a vibrant turquoise or teal hue, providing a striking contrast to the wooden structure. The piece retains its original Cado manufacturer's label, confirming its provenance and authenticity as a Danish-made item from the mid-20th century.
The sofa is in great condition, showing minimal signs of careful use consistent with its age. The wooden frame remains structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing, while the textile upholstery appears well-preserved, maintaining its vibrant color and texture without significant wear.
This Senator sofa is an ideal addition to a Mid-Century Modern or contemporary living space, offering both historical design value and practical comfort. Its compact two-seater design makes it suitable for smaller rooms or as a complementary piece in a larger seating arrangement, pairing effortlessly with other vintage or modern furnishings.
