Exquisite & rare pair of antique Art Nouveau glass vases (approx. 1900)For sale is a museum-quality and fantastically preserved pair of original Art Nouveau Vases made of the finest, hand-blown art glass. The pieces impress with their elegant baluster shape with a wavy, four-fold crimped mouth rim and their fascinating optical color depth. Manufacturer / Glassworks: Glashüttenwerke Buchenau / Freiherr von Poschinger (Bavarian Forest, Germany)Epoch: Original Art Nouveau (circa 1900)Material & Technique: Dark, violet-cobalt blue glass, extremely strongly lustered with a beautiful, metallic-iridescent rainbow shimmer (peacock eye or mother-of-pearl effect). Masterfully hand-painted on the front with opaque enamel colors. Decor: Floral motif with magnificently blooming flowers (anemones / poppies) and detailed, curved leaves. The painting has a tangible relief. Details Underside: Cleanly ground, polished pontil mark on the base – characteristic of Poschinger's high-quality craftsmanship. A rare collector's pair in fabulous condition! Dimensions: Height: 22 cm Diameter top (mouth rim): 16 cm Condition: Excellent, age-appropriate condition.
