Product description
Authentic and very expressive vintage African art sculpture, entirely hand-carved from a deep black solid ebony block, made during the 1970s.
This sculptural work of beautiful finesse depicts the return from a traditional hunt. It represents two porters (warriors or hunters) walking, supporting on their shoulders a long wooden pole from which game is suspended, an antelope (or gazelle) tied by its legs. The sculptor has achieved remarkable anatomical and rhythmic work, characterized by the chiseled details of the loincloths, the expressions of the faces, and the musculature of the bodies.
The piece is monobloc, shaped with its original textured raw wooden base which ensures perfect stability. A magnificent ethnic folk art object, ideal for joining a cabinet of curiosities or a chic shelf.
