Product description
This heavy, richly decorated wall console in cast plaster is a special architectural fragment from an old chapel. The console presumably dates from the first decades of the 20th century and combines a stately design with refined ornaments.
The architectural profiling, graceful curling acanthus leaves and floral details give the whole a classic, ecclesiastical appearance. This console thus forms a beautiful pedestal for a statue of a saint, bust, vase or other special object.
The console is finished in a softly aged ivory tone, which brings out the ornaments beautifully. On the back there are two metal hanging eyes. Weighing 6.3 kg, this is not a light decorative wall shelf, but a sturdy and substantial piece that immediately gives an interior character and allure.
Condition
The console is in good and solid vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use. You can expect small chips and losses, superficial irregularities, old traces of use and locally later paint. These traces match the age and character of the object. The hollow construction and the back are clearly shown in the photos.

The large Sacred Heart statue of Christ, which can be seen in some photos, does not belong to this offer and is offered separately. Together, the console and the statue form an impressive ensemble of approximately 136 cm high. Although both pieces match beautifully in terms of color, size and appearance, I cannot confirm that they were originally manufactured as a pair.
Suspension
Due to its own weight of 6.3 kg, the console must be attached with sturdy mounting material suitable for the wall concerned. If a heavy statue is also placed on it, I strongly recommend professional installation. Screws and other mounting materials are not included.
Important
The console was temporarily hung outdoors solely for photography, so that the combination with the Christ statue could also be safely displayed. It is not suitable for permanent placement in a garden or damp room without prior professional treatment and protective layer. Plaster is highly moisture-absorbent. Indoors, a dry, well-ventilated place is also recommended.
Collection is welcome. Due to its weight and the excellent ornaments, the console will be carefully protected and double-packed.
