Product description
Sculptural UFO Space Age table lamp in opal glass, Italy, 1970s
A striking Italian table lamp from the 1970s, featuring a sculptural UFO-shaped design made entirely from thick opal glass. The shade consists of two distinct glass elements: a broad rounded ring supporting a central dome.
When illuminated, the heavy opal glass diffuses the light into a warm and atmospheric glow, beautifully emphasising the lamp’s futuristic silhouette. Its bold form is highly characteristic of Italian Space Age design from the period.
The designer and manufacturer remain unknown, although the lamp is marked “Made in Italy”. It remains in wonderful vintage condition, with the thick, high-quality glass beautifully preserved. A rare and impressive example of Italian 1970s lighting design.
