This piece is a sculptural table, an art object, designated as the Pedrera model. Its organic form and perforated structure directly evoke the chimneys and undulating facades of Antoni Gaudí's Casa Milà in Barcelona, an icon of Catalan modernism.
Handmade from ceramic (chamotte earthenware) with a raw (unglazed) finish, this table is a cream or off-white color that accentuates its fluid forms. The structure is composed of a complex network of openings, creating a captivating play of light and shadow.
The object can be lit from within to accentuate the interplay of lines.
The base and the upper top share a sinuous silhouette, reminiscent of a flower shape. The artist's initials are discreetly engraved on the base, indicating artisanal studio production.
The overall condition of the piece is excellent, retaining its sculptural character. The surface is water-repellent treated for easy maintenance.
