This sideboard is a striking example of Italian postmodern design from the 1990s, its maker unrecorded but its sculptural vocabulary unmistakable. Finished in a rich mahogany-toned veneer, it features a full-width sliding door with a fine vertical ribbed texture, brass-toned rectangular pulls, and a working lock. The side panels are cut into bold, geometric square apertures in a contrasting dark stain, giving the piece an architectural, almost graphic presence. Behind the sliding door, an adjustable shelf divides the interior into practical storage sections, making this equally suited as a sideboard or a low television stand for a living room.
Condition and Character
Original vintage condition with signs of use. The top surface shows light surface scratching and a faint area of discoloring, and the interior shelf carries a cluster of deeper scratches from prior use. One of the sculptural base feet has a small chip to its corner edge. The sliding door and lock mechanism both operate as intended, and the piece is structurally sound throughout. Please review the detailed photos closely to inspect the exact location and extent of the wear before purchasing.
