This extraordinary, newly assembled West German Pottery vase lamp was crafted from a striking ceramic vase by the Fohr ceramics company in the 1960s/70s.
In the late 1960s, the company collaborated with the internationally renowned designer Cari Zalloni on several designs featuring highly eccentric forms and vibrant glazes. While there is no proof that the design of these very exclusive vases (a limited edition) originated with him, the form and color palette strongly suggest it.
The form is powerful and architectural: a wide base, a conically rising, ribbed body, two symmetrical handles, and a pronounced shoulder.
The glaze is spectacular: luminous red meets vibrant green gradients with subtle nuances – a true statement piece brimming with energy.
Object-friendly upcycling
The conversion to a lamp is carried out entirely without damaging the object:
• no drilling
• no irreversible modifications
• original collector's value is preserved
The socket is anchored using an internal fixing system with a cork and clip. The vase has been weighted for stability. The opening is sealed with a high-quality brass plate, and the threaded rod is encased in brass.
The lamp is supplied wirelessly:
• E27 socket
• rechargeable LED bulb
• warm white light
• remote control included
• RGB color options
• runtime up to 14 hours
• USB charging
• flexible room design without a visible cable
Wiring is available as an option for an additional €25.
The cylindrical shade from Roomlight Studio is covered with marbled bookbinding paper in a striking color composition. The organic color fields in coral, olive, and cream echo the glaze of the vase and enhance its expressive effect.
This lamp, with its vibrant colors, is a real eye-catcher. The light is warm, soft, and atmospheric – as an accent lamp on a sideboard or console, it truly shines. When combined with colored LED light, the intensity of the ceramic is further enhanced.
A distinctive, one-of-a-kind piece with a clear 70s vibe –
powerful, intensely colored, and reimagined with craftsmanship.
