Product description
Richard Smeets (Gennep 1955) attended the art academy in Maastricht. Since the 1980s, his work can be described as lyrical-abstract. According to him, his work comes about in three phases. The basis is an experience, a memory, which the painter then materializes in paint and color.
Richard Smeets makes little use of sketches, but works from the impressions he has in his memory. In his early work we see female nudes, later landscapes, flowers (especially roses) and abstract representations emerge.
The screen print you see here is framed. The frame is not new but perfectly presentable.
