About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
These four transparent glass dessert bowls are exquisite examples of mid-century Scandinavian-inspired design, produced in the 1960s in Marinha Grande, Portugal — the country’s historic heart of glassmaking. Crafted from high-quality textured glass, each bowl features a minimalist yet elegant design that reflects the refined simplicity typical of Scandinavian glassware from the era. Their stackable form makes them both beautiful and practical, ideal for serving desserts, fruit, or small salads while saving space in storage.
The bowls remain in original vintage condition, showing no chips, cracks, or repairs, a testament to the durability and craftsmanship of Portuguese glass artisans. The textured surface captures and reflects light beautifully, adding a touch of sophistication to any table setting or glass collection.
Marinha Grande has been the center of glass production in Portugal since the 18th century, renowned for blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative design. During the 1960s, local glassmakers embraced modernist trends, creating timeless pieces that continue to be admired today. These dessert bowls not only embody Portuguese glassmaking heritage but also highlight the region’s contribution to Europe’s rich design history.
Perfect for collectors or design enthusiasts, these vintage glass bowls combine functionality, style, and cultural significance.
