High-quality set of six German Dining chairs from around 1940/50, made of walnut or walnut veneer. The chairs are characterized by their balanced proportions and a subtly modern design language. Particularly characteristic are the wide, slightly curved backrests with their beautifully grained wood surface. The back panels are framed between slender, slightly flared stiles, giving the chairs an elegant yet solid appearance. The straight-lined underframe with slender, slightly conical legs provides a successful contrast to the softly rounded backrests and seats. The upholstered seats still have their older or presumably original cover in a warm salmon or terracotta tone, which harmonizes very well with the dark walnut wood. One chair bears an original dealer label "Ed. Essen – Bielefeld – Möbel", which documents the historical marketing or distribution of the furniture. The set consists entirely of six chairs and, thanks to the comparatively generous seating surfaces, is suitable for both a classic dining room and modern interiors.
