This set of two Satsuma Moriage vases brings a piece of authentic Japanese craftsmanship into your home. The vases stand out due to their detailed, hand-painted decorations and the distinctive Moriage technique, in which relief is created using clay slip.
Dated from the 1960s to 1970s, Japanese Showa Export porcelain.
The vases are crafted from porcelain and richly decorated with traditional figures (the immortals) in a palette of brown, gold, blue, and red. The underside is marked 'Made in Japan', confirming their origin. The gold-colored accents and fine lines emphasize the quality of the painting.
Both vases are in good condition, befitting their age. The colors have remained vibrant and the relief is well preserved, contributing to the character of this set.
