A striking studio glass vase from the Swiss manufacturer Sarner Glas, crafted using the elaborate Efeso technique – a time-honored glass finishing method originating in Murano glassmaking. Developed in close collaboration with Italian glassblowers, this process is characterized by complex fusions, delicate air bubbles, and deeply textured color gradients. The compact, bulbous body with its gently flared neck is defined by an intensely marbled surface in shades of blue and white, reminiscent of natural rock formations or flowing water. The exceptional material density and substantial weight underscore the high quality of the craftsmanship and lend the piece an impressive presence. A distinctive detail is the attached, clear glass handle, which stands out plastically against the richly colored body, giving the vase an almost sculptural quality. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern design language results in a unique, characterful piece with a clear affinity to Murano aesthetics.
