About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a captivating work on paper by the master of Surrealism, Salvador Dalí. Titled "Surreal Horse," the piece is a fantastic example of the artist's dreamlike and unconventional vision, executed in tempera and gouache.
The artwork measures 25 x 19 cm and showcases a palette of deep blues, greys, and whites. It is signed "Dalí" on the front, with additional annotations and a stamp on the verso, adding to its documented history. The medium of tempera and gouache on paper allows for both the flat, atmospheric sky and the fine details of the horse and the branches emerging from its back.
This piece is in excellent condition, having been well-preserved. It comes with an art certificate from Tudor Antiques & Fine Arts, dated September 2008, which documents its media, dimensions, and provenance. This documentation provides valuable context for the artwork.
As a quintessential Surrealist piece, this work would be a significant addition to a collection of modern art. It is perfectly suited to be a focal point in a study, living room, or hallway, complementing interiors from classic to contemporary.
