Beautiful vintage coffee table, designed by Louis van Teeffelen and produced by the Wébé furniture factory in the 1960s. In the original brochure, this model is listed as Nr. 15, the larger brother of model Nr. 16. Just a bit longer and more generous in size, but still with that characteristic mid-century look. We picked up this coffee table from the original owners on a farm in the north of the Netherlands. After years of loyal service, the table was sold due to the clearing of the house. It's wonderful to be able to give such a piece of furniture with so much history a new home. The table has been fully restored. The teak frame and top have been carefully sanded and refinished with a silk-matte finish, bringing out the warm color and grain of the wood beautifully again. We deliberately preserved part of the characteristic patina, so that the authenticity of the table has not been lost. The rattan magazine rack has also been partly re-woven and is in neat, sturdy condition again. This magazine rack beautifully breaks up the extensive teak and gives the table a lighter and more natural character. At the same time, it is of course just a practical detail, handy for magazines, books or other items you prefer not to leave on the top. The design is unmistakably by Van Teeffelen. Put it among ten other tables and you'll easily pick this one out. The gracefully shaped frame, the elegant lines and the subtly chic appearance are typical of his work. Clearly with a nod to Scandinavian aesthetics, but with enough individuality to lovingly call it Dutch Design. A design that commands respect.
