Private sellerProduct description
This is the Fratello coffee table, a design by the influential Italian designer Enzo Mari for the manufacturer Driade. The piece, designed in 1973, is a prime example of Mari's philosophy where the construction of the furniture is made visible and understandable. The Fratello is an iconic design that combines the essence of functionality and industrial aesthetics.
The table is constructed from a black metal frame, a central beam of light wood, and two clear glass tops. This combination of materials creates a visually light yet structurally solid construction. The two-tier design offers additional storage or display space, which is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The transparency of the glass ensures that the table maintains an open and spacious feel in the room.
This piece is in a condition consistent with its age and history, with a character that can only be acquired through time. The materials show an authentic patina that tells the story of the object. The structural integrity of the table is intact, making it a functional and characterful piece of furniture.
With its clean lines and industrial look, this coffee table fits perfectly into a modern, minimalist, or eclectic interior. It is a piece that not only serves as functional furniture but also as a conversation starter and a piece of Italian design history.
