Dutch-born designer Ruud-Jan Kokke is the founder of the brand and is known for his clear and surprising design style. His designs follow in the tradition of Gerrit Rietveld, a creator who excels in form and construction. His first design, the Fauteuil 21 from 1984, is one of his most famous pieces. Since 1996, the armchair has been part of the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum. It is considered a Dutch design classic and won the Red Dot Design Award (1996, category: Design Innovations). Ruud-Jan Kokke's work has won numerous national and international awards, and his designs are included in the collections of leading museums such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam, and the MoMA in New York.
The chair was produced in the 1980s. It is not a reissue.
