Rudolf Horn is considered the design pope and most important furniture designer of the GDR. He is the creator of the well-known furniture program Deutsche Werkstätten (MDW) Dresden-Hellerau.
The interior designer, who also taught as a professor at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle for many years, brought his creative ideas to the homes of real existing socialism and beyond. His lounge furniture was exported exclusively to the West or was used in prestigious buildings and by high-ranking citizens. Horn's furniture can still be found in many German homes today. Horn designed furnishings for life...of the highest quality...

The photos will be exposed in high light so that the first-class condition can be seen in detail! The shine on the photos or grayish areas are due to exposure or lighting (reflections), in nature the leather is silky matt and deep black.

Condition:
The lounge sofa is technically and visually in an impeccable and unique condition. It has been restored with great dedication by the restorer. The leather has been regenerated, recolored, sealed and reupholstered. It has no stains, scratches, tears or holes, is completely odorless and has a lovely soft feel. Apart from that, it looks like new, except for the slight leather wrinkles in the seat area that are typical of casual upholstery (down or down-like substitutes are used here rather than foam). The cushions are nicely voluminous and not at all sunken. The upholstery is flawless. The beautiful chrome runners also look as good as new and do not have the usual marks and scratches. We also replaced the tensioning fabric on the underside.
Here, too, it will be extremely difficult to "top" the condition, probably once again the best that is available worldwide.
