Product description
An original Royal System wall unit designed by Poul Cadovius, one of the most recognisable examples of Danish modular furniture design. The system combines a light architectural appearance with a highly practical and flexible construction, allowing the individual components to be positioned freely along the wooden wall rails.
This configuration consists of five shelves and a deeper cabinet with two sliding doors. Behind the doors, the cabinet is divided into two sections with an internal shelf, providing useful closed storage alongside the open display space above. The sliding doors are fitted with small sculpted wooden pulls that sit discreetly within the clean façade.
The shelves are supported by the characteristic slender metal brackets, creating the floating appearance for which the system is known. The warm tone of the teak is complemented by the aged metal supports, while the three wall rails allow the composition to be arranged in different ways depending on the available space.
Multiple components retain their original “Made in Denmark” stamps, confirming the Danish origin of the set.
The system remains in good vintage condition with signs of use consistent with its age, including small marks, scratches and variations in the finish. These traces are visible in the photographs and form part of the authentic character of the piece.
