A round rattan and wicker tray with meticulous weaving, built around a play of materials and techniques that gives it an immediately recognizable character. The base is composed of fine dark brown radial strands, punctuated by vertical bands of light chevron weaving. At its center, a wide band of tight weaving displays an intertwined diamond pattern, of remarkable precision for an object of this kind. The border is the most spectacular element: a succession of hand-formed, light wicker spiral loops that run all around the tray and give it a silhouette that is both light and decorative. Diameter: approximately 35 cm. Very good condition, with a few slightly loose strands around the edge, traces of authentic use. Placed on a table, hung on the wall, or incorporated into a basketry arrangement, this tray brings that natural warmth of raw materials that contemporary interiors seek.
