Eight centimeters in diameter, five in height. In this miniature format, an artisan from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie has concentrated all their expertise. The pebble-like shape of this round enameled faience box, with its domed profile and precisely fitted lid, demonstrates a technical mastery rarely encountered on pieces of this size. The decoration is hand-painted, with a free and confident stroke. A large daisy with slender petals, floral buds, and foliage in broad blue strokes on a cream-white background. The line work is lively, expressive, without hesitation. A blue fillet highlights the perimeter of the body, continuing inside the rim. This type of decoration, both simple and lively, is characteristic of Moustiers workshops where each piece was unique. The underside bears a handwritten signature in brown gold from a Moustiers-Sainte-Marie workshop, a mecca of French faience whose tradition dates back to the 17th century. This hallmark distinguishes the piece from anonymous industrial production and confers additional value for the collector or discerning enthusiast.
