Mid-century (1950s/60s) made by Rosenthal, Germany. Design by Fritz Heidenreich Stylish vintage porcelain vase in white. In 1950 Fritz Heidenreich presented the 2592 orchid vase, designed for Rosenthal AG. After an initially reluctant reception, the vase quickly grew in popularity under the name "Pregnant Louise," a term adopted from factory jargon, leading to an intense debate about symmetry and asymmetry. Porcelain vase, curved belly form with narrow neck, sloping, bird's head-like mouth, lip rim and sloping handle. Marked: Rosenthal Germany Kunstabteilung Selb V Engraved: 2592 F.
