Rosenthal Suomi dinnerware from the Studio Line, designed by Timo Sarpaneva in the 1960s–1970s, is an iconic example of Scandinavian design. The dinnerware is crafted from hard porcelain, sleek, timeless, and elegant.
Sarpaneva's creation achieved the highest recognition with his complete porcelain dinner service Suomi ("Finland"), on which he worked for four years. The dinnerware was launched in 1976 by the German company Rosenthal, which initially found the concept too simple, as part of its "studio line." The originally all-white modern classic with softly rounded corners was included in the permanent collection of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris as an example of contemporary design.
The design is inspired by water-cut pebbles and rocks, with flowing, rounded shapes that create a natural and harmonious feel.
Important: the set is in perfect condition, barely used, and can only be picked up or delivered (up to 100km) to avoid the risk of breakage. The set consists of:
- 12 dinner plates
- 12 deep plates
- 8 breakfast plates
- 12 cups with saucers
- 5 small serving pots
- Sauce boat with underplate
- Salad bowl

The dinnerware is currently packed in 3 boxes and has been in the attic for a few years. The fact that grandchildren often come to eat means that such a beautiful dinnerware set is too valuable to remain on our table. At an agreed pick-up time, it can be beautifully displayed upon request, so that you can view the pieces at your leisure before it is repacked.
Practical:
To avoid breakage, the dinnerware is not shipped via parcel service. Pickup is preferred, but a personal delivery service is available within a radius of 50–100 km from Oostvleteren for €0.25/km (round trip; for example, 100 km = €50). Payment can be made in cash or via Payconiq by mutual agreement.
