Hand-painted Rosenthal porcelain footed bowl, Chippendale decoration, made in the 1940s. Diameter 34 cm, height 8 cm. Rosenthal is a German company founded in 1879 in Bavaria. It produces porcelain and tableware. Since 2009, it has been owned by Sambonet Paderno Industrie, an Italian company. Its early collections show the influence of Baroque and Rococo. Later, designers from the Art Nouveau movement were invited to collaborate. The Rosenthal brand was among the first in the world to bring design and new trends to Art de la Table and boasts collaborations with illustrious architects and designers.
